Profilingvalues – the test method

Profilingvalues is based on the scientific works of Professor Robert S. Hartman, which focus on human beings’ personal value systems. His main work, „The Structure of Value“ developed a new scientific discipline under the name of “formal axiology” (the formal science of values), which is based on philosophy and mathematical logic. Subsequently, he created the Hartman Value Profile.

The Hartman Value Profile, which also constitutes the motor of profilingvalues, rapidly outlines a person’s value system through hierarchically ordering concepts of value. Through this hierarchical system, the potential variety of rankings is almost infinite – just like the actual possible human personalities.

According to the profiling’s results, it is possible to clearly depict personal traits, tendencies, interests, skills and reasons for actions. The results are stable and sound.

This is because one does not simply change one’s personal value system.

Profilingvalues measures a person’s skill level as well as the current level of attention – their will – in 6 value dimensions:

  • Empathy and social competence

  • Own needs and stress resistance

  • Practical thinking and being solution-oriented

  • Being success-oriented and imposing oneself

  • Structured thinking and structured problem resolution

  • Goal-orientation and determination

Advantages

The report format developed by profilingvalues analyses both personality traits and the degree to which a person is using his/her individual potential. It is currently unrivalled in its precision.

  • profilingvalues is a fast tool: Duration ca. 20 minutes (for applicants)

  • Online application

  • No usual self-evaluation of participants for certain situations or own skills

  • The test cannot be manipulated: While completing profilingvalues, there is no possibility for manipulation based on implicit theories or notions of social desirability, as the items are formulated that hardly participates to determine the underlying theory.

  • profilingvalues highlights a person’s inner values and focus, thereby allowing deductions about personal strengths and weaknesses as well as about the person’s current life situation.
